Editing process- double exposure

How I created double exposure for our music video

The main key for achieving this was to have my main subject in front of a green screen lip syncing when filming. I then got a time-lapse video from youtube to use as my double exposure. When editing I first started by dragging the time lapse video and placing it on video 2 instead of video 1 and playing the main subject (key footage) on video 3. I added Ultra key on my subject in order to change the background colour( green) then grabbed track matte key on video 3 layer ended up having the time lapse video inside my main subject as well as in the background. I then went on matte generation and dropped the shadow until i got a black background as well as played around with the matte clean up to soften the edges. I went on to copy the footage of my main subject (Key footage) and place it as video 4 so I could paste the same video as video 3 in order to have my key footage come up on top. Because there we some Lines that were coming through around my main subject that made it look unblended. I also went on my top footage , matte clean up and choke it on 5.0 to blend the outline of my subject.
In order to combine everything I used Luma key, which helped me to get the timelapse footage coming in the background and still get a nice tone on my subject. i then adjusted my cutoff by putting it up as well as lower the threshold below the amount of the cutoff inverting and filling the darkes out and keeping the highs in. i then went on to add colour matte to change the black background into white which resulted me with the final product.

Filming In Studio

Today, We met up to go college and film in the college's photography studio. While we waited for our artist using the food coloring and wine glass provided by me we shot scenes for our Slow motion effect.
My role was also Makeup artist therefore i was required to apply her make up and consistently apply her red lipstick in as it was the key part of her makeup as the colour Red was the theme of our music video.

Me and rebecca took role as camerawomen shooting several scenes necessary for our music video.

Call Sheet- College

After buying our smoke bombs it was time to officially start making our music video. we originally planned to first shoot in a studio but however due it being half term the technician that was meant to provide us with camera was not there and we could not get access to the studio. but we did not let this out us down, One of our  grupe members , Rebbeca, luckily had a photographic camera. we used this to our advantage, we got the smoke bombs and the camera and off we went to Leake St.
I took the role of camera man and was able to take several shot in different spots in Leake St that we thought would be perfect to represent her and what she is saying in her lyrics. Props included smoke bombs two whites and one red, a green spray paint which we used to paint the artist's name on of the walls. In my opinion Today has gone very well and would come out very well when we edit it.

Experimenting with speed

Me and my group in order to practice our camera skills went to the football field to use props such as naturalistic elements (leaves) in order to create slow motion. we have also used another sample of our filming of movement in order to practice speed ramping. However to experiment with different surroundings we edited in another scene to compare and contrast the impact different environments can have.

To begin with we set the camera on manual setting, we then found video system option and made sure the video system was NTSC. we then went on movie recording and set the camera on 60 frames a second. This allows us to get a slower motion which then gives us a better outcome.
we then went on premiere pro to edit our footage. Double clicking on the footage and selecting modify and then interpret footage was what we did next. we changed the frame rate to 10 FPS and even 5 FBS.

TEAM MEETING

In our what'sapp group chat we often discuss our ideas and suggest things that we think are useful for our music video. as it is seen in the screenshots I proposed to use smoke bombs in some of our scenes and we discussed how we would purchase it and bring this idea to life.
Aayisha often suggested what we should do next which really pushed us to do well. we also had some disagreements as seen below our artists chloe was often busy with her own A2 work and was also going to a different college.  This made it harder for us to film as much as we wanted to because her Timetable frequently clashed with ours. This made us have second thoughts on having her as our artist as well as have some disagreements.

Team meeting

In today's lesson me and my group have booked the camera for tomorrow and have planned what we will be filming. we have decided to film the slow motion shots of balloon bursting, colour dripping in water, flower falling apart. we will be filming this in the studio which will require us to be careful as there is health hazards. This can be things like tripping over wires, water going on wires, camera.

In today's lesson i have researched how to get an effective slow motion as we will be using a slow motion for things like, balloon bursting, flower falling apart, and a bird flying. it is not an easy process as i thought it would be, meaning our group will have to do a practice in order to achieve a good outcome. From my research I have found out that our camera need to be set on manual as well as 60 frame per second to achieve good results.

Chosen style of music video

Before me and my group had in mind to use a narrative for our music video and was preparing the storyline, but we have now decided that our music video will be more performance based.
